Overview
- VICI Properties announced it has acquired the Carambola Beach Resort and signed a long-term triple-net lease with Club Med to operate the property after redevelopment.
- The companies said in a joint announcement Monday, June 15, 2026 that the resort will be rebranded Club Med St. Croix with 150 keys and will mark Club Med’s return to U.S. soil.
- Construction is planned to begin in summer 2026 with a targeted reopening in the fourth quarter of 2027.
- The project is expected to create roughly 200 direct jobs, expand opportunities for local suppliers and excursion operators, and involve ongoing engagement with territorial officials on training and business development.
- Club Med has framed the plan under its 'Happy to Care' sustainability program and the redevelopment will target BREEAM and Green Globe certification to guide environmental design and operations.
