Vermont Green FC Completes Back-to-Back Undefeated USL League Two Titles

Vermont Green secured the 2026 USL League Two crown with a 2-1 road victory over the Flint City Bucks at Atwood Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 1.
The final swung on decisive moments: an Ellis Jones own goal in the 62nd minute, a Flint equalizer two minutes later, and a 76th-minute penalty drilled by Ryan Zellefrow, who was named final MVP.
Substitute David Ajagbe’s run forced a challenge from Flint goalkeeper Steven Clark that drew a yellow card and produced the penalty, and goalkeeper Seth Wilson made late saves to preserve the lead.
The title capped a dominant postseason for Vermont that included a 7-1 semifinal win in Laredo and completed a second straight undefeated season for a club that finished the campaign with prolific scoring and strong depth.
