VEMO to Invest $48.5 Million in Nuevo León EV Charging, Driver Financing

The initiative serves as the first step in a $1.5 billion Mexico-wide expansion targeting roughly 23,000 connectors plus more than 55,000 EVs by 2030.

Overview

  • VEMO earmarked $48.5 million (825 million pesos) for driver financing, public fast charging, a specialized EV workshop and battery energy storage in Nuevo León.
  • The plan includes four ultrarapid charging centers enabling 120 simultaneous sessions starting in 2026, with about 270 additional charging points slated by early 2027.
  • Through VEMO Impulso, platform drivers will access lease-to-own options, with at least 1,000 electric vehicles targeted for deployment in Monterrey during 2026.
  • A certified 1,800 m² EV service facility will support maintenance for up to 1,500 vehicles per month, with BESS integrated at charging hubs to improve operational resilience.
  • The initial tranche is projected to generate about 350 direct and indirect jobs, with the announcement made at the Latam Mobility North America 2026 event in Nuevo León.
