Overview
- The Holy See announced Pope Léon XIV will make a one-day official visit to Monaco on Saturday, 28 March.
- It will be the first visit by a reigning pope to the principality since contemporary apostolic travel began in the 1960s.
- Prince Albert II met the pope in Rome in January to extend the invitation in person.
- The Vatican said their discussions covered the environment, human dignity, humanitarian aid and defence.
- The announcement came alongside plans for visits to Algeria, Cameroon, Angola and Equatorial Guinea from 13–23 April, followed by Spain from 6–12 June.
