Vancouver Police Find 5 Children Living in Trash-Filled Car, Arrest 3 Adults

The children are now in CPS custody as investigators work to clarify the adults’ relationships to them.

Overview

  • Officers discovered the vehicle in downtown Vancouver and reported drug paraphernalia inside, finding meth on a suspect and receiving an admission that fentanyl was in the car.
  • The children, ages 13, 11, 10, 8 and 5, showed clear signs of neglect and had very little food available, according to police.
  • Child Protective Services took custody of the minors and they were taken to a hospital for evaluation, and police seized the vehicle as evidence.
  • Animal Control removed three dogs; two were described as extremely underweight and a third with an untreated open tumor was euthanized.
  • Natalie Gebron and Zachariah Edwards were booked on endangerment, possession and animal-cruelty counts, while Corleone Lewis faces nine charges including possession with intent, camping and storage violations, and domestic-violence-related counts.
