Valorant’s New Map Summit Adds Permanent Dropping Walls and Hits Competitive Pool June 24

Riot’s design makes in-round wall activations irreversible to force faster, close-to-medium fights and change rotations in real time.

Overview

  • Riot unveiled Summit during VCT Masters London last weekend, confirming the map will join Season 2026 // Act 4 and go live on June 24.
  • Summit features three shoot-activated droppable walls on A, B and Mid that, once triggered, stay closed for the remainder of the round and permanently alter sightlines and rotation paths.
  • Riot will place Summit into Competitive at launch and cut RR losses on the map by 50% for two weeks while offering a Summit-only queue to let players learn the layout with reduced rank risk.
  • Designers say the mechanic is meant to favor tighter, skirmish-style fights and will shift agent and weapon value toward close-to-medium tools, with curved meditation-area walls kept away from key 90-degree combat corners.
  • Act 4 also brings a 3v3 Retake mode with randomized loadouts plus the Blackspyre skin line and a new battle pass, and the permanent-wall mechanic raises immediate balance questions for Operators, rotations, and retake strategies.
