Overview
- The local holiday, set by the DOGV for January 22, shut schools, many public offices and numerous retailers across Valencia city.
- Mercadona and Consum closed city stores along with Carrefour, Lidl and Día, while Aldi, Carrefour Express and Charter de Consum operated as exceptions.
- City shopping centres such as El Saler, Aqua, Nuevo Centro and Arena, plus El Corte Inglés, kept retail closed, as leisure and dining areas opened.
- Large sites outside city limits, including Bonaire, MN4, Ikea, Gran Turia and El Osito, traded on normal hours because the day is not a holiday in those municipalities.
- Processions proceeded in Ciutat Vella from 11:30 to 13:30 with defined routes and parking bans, and religious services continued despite the mascletà suspension.
