Overview
- Eskom set a seven-hour outage for Ga-Rankuwa in Tshwane on Thursday, 5 March, from 09:00 to 16:00, affecting areas including Bangladesh, Erasmus, Ga-Rankuwa Zones 7–10 and 17, Hebron, Itsoseng, parts of Kgabalatsane, Matshelapata, Midas Square and small parts of Mmakau.
- City Power will cut supply on Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 for maintenance at Johannesburg’s Cydna Substation, impacting Athol, Melrose, Houghton, Houghton West, Illovo, Kent Park and Melrose Arch.
- Further City Power work at the Mondeor Substation on Sunday will require an 08:00 to 16:00 outage across southern Johannesburg suburbs including Mondeor, Meredale, Naturena, Kibler Park and Alan Manor, with specified extensions.
- The City of Cape Town announced two 10-hour Langa maintenance windows on Tuesday, 17 March, and Thursday, 19 March, from 08:00 to 18:00, targeting Langa Station 1 and 2, then Bhunga Avenue, Haarlem and Papu Square substations.
- Residents are urged to treat points as live at all times and to switch off appliances to avoid surge damage, with Eskom noting planned work may be postponed if circumstances change.
