Overview
- The Zammoth, which debuted Tuesday during Utah’s home game against Edmonton, carries up to eight fans on the Delta Center ice in pregame and intermissions.
- Built on the frame of a 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Zamboni, the 17-foot-tall rig adds glowing eyes, 3D-printed tusks, custom lighting, sound, and special effects.
- It no longer resurfaces the rink, with standard machines cleaning the ice as the Zammoth runs only as an in-game attraction.
- Smith Entertainment Group created the project with Utah’s Diesel Brothers, and builder Billy Zuber helped sketch the look that guided the final design.
- The team has the vehicle on the arena plaza for upcoming games so fans can see it up close, and ride sign-up details have not yet been announced.
