USWNT To Host World No. 1 Spain in Two October Friendlies

U.S. Soccer says the matches will serve as final tests before CONCACAF World Cup qualifying.

Overview

  • U.S. Soccer announced Monday, July 13, 2026, that the United States Women’s National Team will play Spain on Oct. 10 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., and Oct. 13 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa.
  • Coach Emma Hayes called the fixtures “the perfect tests” and said the team had long sought a Spain matchup to evaluate players and tactics ahead of regional qualifying.
  • Spain is available for the October window because it secured direct qualification from UEFA in June by finishing top of its group.
  • The Oct. 10 match will include a pregame retirement ceremony honoring Crystal Dunn and a commemorative bobblehead for the first 2,000 fans, with ticket presales beginning the week of the announcement.
  • The friendlies are the USWNT’s final tuneups ahead of the CONCACAF W Championship in late November and early December, a tournament where a U.S. quarterfinal win would clinch World Cup qualification.
