Overview
- The USTA announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with Marvel to produce an original Spider-Man comic tied to the US Open theme "Celebrating Our New York Story."
- More than 40,000 print copies will be handed out for free during US Open Fan Week with distribution on a first-come, first-serve basis to fans who scan their Fan Access Pass at the giveaway tent.
- A limited-edition set of borough covers will be issued in a blind-bag surprise to the first 1,000 fans each day from August 24–28, creating scarcity for collectible seekers.
- The comic follows Spider-Man chasing the villain Scorpion across all five New York boroughs and highlights local landmarks including the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center.
- This is the third consecutive year of USTA–Marvel print collaborations and the first to feature New York’s Spider-Man, a move the USTA says will deepen fan experience and could draw new, younger audiences given recent renewed interest in the franchise.
