Overview
- USPS, which announced the issue Friday, May 1, will debut the 10-stamp set on July 11 at the National Barbie Doll Collectors Convention in Austin, Texas.
- The stamps depict Barbie in ten careers, reflecting roles such as astronaut, surgeon, paleontologist, music star, sign language teacher, and soccer player.
- USPS says the published designs are preliminary and could change before the July release.
- The design team, led by USPS art director Ethel Kessler with Mattel, uses a vertical format a third taller than usual and leans on the signature Barbie Pink.
- As Forever stamps, each will equal the First-Class 1-ounce rate, currently $0.78, and will be sold via the Postal Store, USA Philatelic by mail or phone, select post offices, and licensed products on Amazon.
