Overview
- President Donald Trump said there are no talks with Iran and posted a map labeling the Strait of Hormuz “NEW US Territory,” while reaffirming a U.S. naval blockade and saying the waterway was open.
- The United Arab Emirates announced it had detected two ballistic missiles it said were launched from Iran and then suspended all trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Tehran until further notice.
- Iran denied the UAE’s missile claim and said the strait will remain closed until the United States meets conditions from a June memorandum that include lifting the blockade, easing oil sanctions and releasing frozen assets.
