Overview
- The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Shenzhen Muqiqu announced the recall for roughly 91,000 Woodure plywood toddler kitchen towers on July 30 after reports the units can tip, collapse, or allow a child’s torso to fit through front or back openings.
- The recall covers models WD1764, WD1357 and WD1720 sold on Amazon from July 2024 through June or July 2026 for about $60 to $100 and the model number is engraved under the bottom step for identification.
- Manufacturers reported 22 incidents of instability or tip-overs and at least 15 injuries, including scrapes, cuts and bruises, and no deaths have been reported so far.
- Shenzhen Muqiqu is offering a free repair kit that includes stabilizing feet, protective safety nets and installation instructions instead of refunds and consumers are told to stop use and request the kit before returning the stool to service.
- Separately, the CPSC also announced a recall of tens of thousands of Trsmima backyard zipline kits and spring brakes after failure reports and injuries, highlighting multiple recent child‑product safety actions by regulators.
