U.S. Recalls 1.5 Million OCOOPA Hand Warmers Over Fire Risk

Overview

  • The recall, announced Thursday, July 30, 2026, covers about 1.5 million OCOOPA rechargeable hand warmers sold online from September 2018 through May 2026.
  • OCOOPA Direct and the CPSC recorded 1,480 reports of overheating that include 15 fires, roughly 350 burn injuries and the February death of an 83‑year‑old San Diego resident.
  • Affected models carry numbers UT3053, UT3056, ZLS‑118 variants, H01 and H01(PD) and were sold on Amazon, Walmart and OCOOPA websites in two‑pack configurations with built‑in lithium‑ion batteries and USB‑C ports.
  • Consumers should stop using the devices immediately and contact OCOOPA Direct for a full refund; the company requires owners to mark units “RECALLED” and submit a photo showing the marking the model number and three‑digit batch number to get a refund.
