Overview
- U.S. Central Command said it completed a 10th consecutive night of air and sea strikes late Monday targeting Iranian command centers, air defenses, coastal surveillance, missile and drone launch sites, maritime assets and communications networks.
- Iran and allied forces replied with missile and drone attacks on U.S. sites in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan and reported strikes on commercial tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, with UKMTO reporting at least one vessel hit and crews abandoning ship.
- The Pentagon confirmed 17 U.S. service members have died in the war and identified two soldiers killed in Jordan, while Iran’s health ministry says U.S. strikes have killed more than 50 people and wounded about 517 inside Iran.
- The U.S. has reimposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports, saying it has redirected multiple commercial vessels and disabled at least one, and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has largely stalled as oil prices and insurance costs rise.
- Diplomatic channels remain active with Pakistan and other mediators offering ceasefire proposals even as the June interim truce has effectively collapsed and talks face deep strain.
