U.S. 281 Crash in Marble Falls Kills Five, Including Two Children
Investigators have not determined why the northbound pickup entered the oncoming lanes.

- Police say a black Nissan pickup driven by 80-year-old Antonio Lara crossed into southbound traffic on U.S. Highway 281 in Marble Falls and triggered a three-vehicle crash.
- The pickup sideswiped a white BMW and then struck a silver Hyundai head-on in what officers described as the sequence of impacts.
- Five people died at the scene, including Lara and Hyundai occupants Roxanne Mowrey, 50, Ron Dykes, 55, and two girls ages 3 and 5.
- The BMW carried a 29-year-old man, a 27-year-old woman, and their 8-month-old son, and none of them suffered serious injuries.
