UPSC Releases ESE 2026 Prelims Timetable for February 8

The exam begins the three-stage selection for 474 government engineering posts across four branches.

Overview

  • Stage 1 will run in two shifts on February 8: Paper I from 9:30–11:30 AM and Paper II from 2:00–5:00 PM, both objective.
  • Paper I covers General Studies and Engineering Aptitude for 200 marks, while Paper II is discipline-specific for 300 marks, totaling 500.
  • UPSC has specified negative marking for wrong answers in the objective papers.
  • The recruitment covers Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics & Telecommunication engineering streams.
  • Registration closed on October 16, 2025; exam-city slips and admit cards are expected by January, and reports place the Mains on June 21, 2026.
