UPN Student Strike Ends With Peaceful Handover, Classes Resume Jan. 7

A no-reprisals pact clears the way for working groups to address student demands across infrastructure, safety, curricula, scholarships, audits, postgraduate programs.

Overview

  • Student representatives formally ended the months-long strike and returned units 092 Ajusco, 095 Azcapotzalco and 098 Iztacalco to authorities.
  • SEP chief Mario Delgado led the first working session to review the petition and coordinated the delivery-reception of facilities.
  • SEP, UPN leadership and student delegates signed a letter guaranteeing no administrative, academic, labor or legal reprisals against participants.
  • Delgado inspected the Ajusco campus and reported the facilities were in perfect condition with no damage, with a diagnostic and rehabilitation proposal to follow.
  • An activity calendar was agreed to recover coursework in January so students keep the semester, receive grades and transition into the next academic cycle.
