Overview
- The Uttar Pradesh government signed a cooperation pact with Japan’s Yamanashi prefecture on green hydrogen, including training for UP technical students in Japan and plans to apply the technology in industry, transport and energy in the state.
- During the Japan leg, media and state statements reported MoUs of roughly ₹11,000 crore with companies spanning agricultural machinery, auto components, electronics, industrial printing and infrastructure, including Kubota, Spark Minda, Japan Aviation Electronics and Nagase.
- State officials said the two-country outreach has produced about ₹1.5 lakh crore in MoUs and investment proposals around ₹2.5 lakh crore, figures presented as proposals and agreements rather than closed, independently verified investments.
- Adityanath met senior leaders from Konoike Transport, Mitsui, Denso and JETRO, pitching UP’s logistics, expressway and Dedicated Freight Corridor links as well as focus sectors such as semiconductors, data centres, ICT and medical devices.
- Technology engagements in Japan included visits to a hydrogen facility in Yamanashi, an industrial robotics site at FANUC and a ride on the Maglev train, alongside promotion of dedicated clusters like the 500-acre ‘Japan Industrial City’ planned near Noida International Airport.
