Universal’s Volcano Bay to Go Fully Cashless on Feb. 25, 2026

Guests using cash must load money onto a Visa prepaid card at on-site kiosks before making purchases.

Overview

  • Starting February 25, all transactions for dining, shopping, locker rentals, and photos inside Volcano Bay will require card or tap-to-pay methods.
  • Accepted payments include credit and debit cards, Universal Pay, Universal Gift Cards, and digital wallets, with networks listed as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club.
  • Cash-to-Card kiosks will convert cash to a Visa Prepaid card that works at Volcano Bay and anywhere major cards are accepted.
  • Universal has not announced similar changes for Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, or Epic Universe, and cash remains accepted there for now.
  • The change has prompted discussion about accessibility for international visitors and families who rely on cash for budgeting.
