Universal Unveils ‘Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift’ Cars as On-Track Testing Advances

The Hollywood coaster enters its final push with 360-degree rotating four-seat vehicles that simulate drifting.

Overview

  • Universal revealed four franchise-modeled ride vehicles—Dodge Charger, Mazda RX-7, Nissan Skyline R34, and Toyota Supra A80—each seating four riders.
  • Testing with the themed cars is underway in Hollywood, with screen-used Charger and Skyline models now displayed outside the attraction.
  • The aerial layout spans roughly 4,100 feet, reaches up to about 72 mph, and has been timed at around two minutes during tests.
  • The track will cross above the park’s multi-level Starway escalator, and the load platform features a Tristan Eaton mural within a red brick, garage-style facade.
  • Opening remains slated for Summer 2026 in Hollywood, with a 2027 Florida installation planned to add a 170-foot vertical spike near the edge of CityWalk.
