Universal Theme Parks Exhibit Debuts Saturday at Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute

Hands-on STEAM stations reveal the creative-to-engineering process behind Universal attractions.

Overview

  • The world premiere opens Saturday, Feb. 14, in Philadelphia and runs through Sept. 7 as the first stop before a planned multi‑year national tour.
  • Tickets are on sale: daytime admission with full museum access runs about $41–$47, evening exhibit‑only entry Thursday–Saturday is $25, and a Flex Time option is about $65.
  • The 18,000‑square‑foot experience spans eight galleries with roughly 100 artifacts and about 20 interactive elements, featuring work from Jaws, Jurassic World, Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon, Minions and SUPER NINTENDO WORLD.
  • The exhibition was developed in partnership between The Franklin Institute and Comcast NBCUniversal/Universal Destinations & Experiences and opens with a recorded welcome from Steven Spielberg.
  • Interactive stations teach ride physics, animatronic programming, live‑show control and digital make‑up design to spotlight real‑world engineering and design careers.
