Universal Schedules 12-Day Closure for Hogwarts' Forbidden Journey in February 2027

The company published specific dates but gave no explanation of the work which leaves visitors to change plans or use other attractions.

Universal listed the closure on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026 and shows Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey as unavailable from February 8 through February 19, 2027.
The park labels the outage a “Temporary Closure” and has not said what maintenance or updates will be done or whether the attraction will reopen on February 20.
The listing applies only to Forbidden Journey and does not close Hogsmeade or other rides such as Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure and Flight of the Hippogriff.
Guests whose trips fall inside the 12-day window should reschedule Islands of Adventure or plan to spend time at other Universal parks because the castle walkthrough and ride sequence will be inaccessible.
The shutdown follows earlier work on the attraction and castle exterior in 2025–26 but Universal has not tied those projects to the February 2027 closure and its calendar warns dates may change.
