- On Friday Universal apologized after briefly posting June 26 as the opening date for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift and removed the date, saying only that the coaster will open this summer and that an official public date will be shared later.
- Universal has started human testing in Hollywood and invited press to preview the queue and trains, signaling the project is in late-stage operational trials but not yet open to the public.
- Universal Creative says the Hollywood coaster will reach 72 mph, run roughly 4,100 feet of track with four inversions, and use four rotating cars themed to franchise vehicles to simulate drifting.
- For safety and faster loading, Universal will introduce metal detectors and color-coded double-sided lockers at the Hollywood site that lock and unlock with park-ticket barcodes and require paper barcodes for some digital-ticket users.
