Universal Replaces Epic Universe Fountain With Larger Celestial Nighttime Spectacle

The park folded its existing water, lighting, and LED systems into a fireworks-backed parkwide finale meant to lengthen guest evenings and boost in-park activity.

Overview

The original Cosmos Fountain gave its final performance on July 6, 2026 and was retired as a standalone nightly show.
Universal Celestial Goodnight began performances the next night on July 7, 2026 after visible rehearsals and overnight infrastructure work, marking an essentially immediate switch.
The new production greatly expands technical scale by using more than 350 large fountains, nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures, and about seven million LEDs while adding a fireworks finale.
Universal retained the park’s water features and integrated them into a parkwide staging that pulls visual elements from Epic Universe’s themed lands and aims to keep visitors in the park later.
The rapid replacement—coming a little over a year after Epic Universe opened—follows visible testing and construction in Celestial Park and could drive longer guest stays, added dining and retail spending, and phased expansion around the park.
