Universal Announces Universal Celestial Goodnight Nighttime Spectacular at Epic Universe

The large-scale water, light and fireworks production signals a step toward fuller evening operations and longer guest stays at Epic Universe.

Overview

  • Universal announced Monday that Universal Celestial Goodnight will run nightly at Epic Universe beginning July 7 and that viewing is included with standard park admission.
  • The production uses nearly 600 synchronized lighting fixtures, more than 350 fountains, and about seven million embedded LEDs across Celestial Park, culminating in a fireworks finale over the hub.
  • Observers documented weeks of preparation before the announcement, including after-hours audio rehearsals, hiring of fireworks technicians, permit and control work, and equipment staged at a suspected launch pad near the Helios Grand Hotel.
  • Universal says the show is themed as a tribute to Epic Universe’s portals — Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, and Dark Universe — with an original musical score choreographing the effects.
  • The new nightly spectacular completes a key piece of Epic Universe’s opening-year buildout, and it may change evening crowd flow, guest spending and operational timing as nearby expansion parcels show continued development.
