Overview
- Bad weather forced United Airlines Flight 280, bound for Chicago from Tampa, to land at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport on Sunday night.
- United called Milwaukee County deputies about a passenger who threatened to exit the parked plane, and deputies boarded the aircraft at about 11:40 p.m.
- A 44-year-old woman identified herself, was handcuffed on the jet bridge, cited for disorderly conduct, and released to family members traveling with her.
- While being escorted to the airport substation the woman said she was having trouble breathing and may have been anxious; EMS was called initially but canceled shortly afterward and no injuries were reported.
- United canceled the remainder of the flight because the crew had reached duty-time limits, and the airline rebooked customers and provided hotel and transportation reimbursement for the 108 passengers affected.
