United Finishes Starlink on Most Regional Jets, Targets 800+ Planes by 2026

FAA certifications will drive the next phase on mainline aircraft.

Overview

  • United has completed Starlink installations on nearly all two-cabin regional jets, bringing the high-speed service to more than 300 aircraft in about 10 months.
  • Over 25 percent of daily departures—roughly 1,200 flights—now offer gate-to-gate connectivity that supports live sports streaming and online gaming.
  • Customer Wi‑Fi satisfaction scores on Starlink-equipped aircraft have nearly doubled, with more than 7 million passengers connecting about 3.7 million devices over the past 10 months.
  • The mainline rollout is set to accelerate pending FAA approval for more than a dozen aircraft types, including the Boeing 737‑900ER, Airbus A321 family and Boeing 777.
  • United projects more than 800 Starlink-equipped planes by the end of 2026 with full fleet completion in 2027, and it will promote the service with local Super Bowl ads in cities where availability is already high.
