UN Warns Multiple Crises Escalate Across West Bank, Ukraine, DRC and Sudan

Overview

• In late July the UN said violence and tighter movement restrictions across the West Bank have killed civilians, destroyed homes and forced families from their houses, and that a reported order to deploy forces into a fourth refugee camp could affect thousands.
• The UN reported that attacks in Ukraine continue to kill and injure civilians and damage homes, energy and water systems, and that strikes have also hit UN warehouses and other humanitarian facilities, complicating aid delivery and winter planning.
• Health authorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo have recorded thousands of confirmed Ebola cases across multiple provinces, prompting UN coordinators to call for more treatment centres, protective gear, specialized staff and funding.
• Sudan is facing growing displacement in Darfur and a cholera outbreak with more than 2,000 suspected cases and about 170 deaths since May, while the 2026 humanitarian appeal is roughly 40 percent funded and the limited cash is restricting response capacity.
• Humanitarian agencies are pre-positioning supplies, launching winter preparedness and scaling operations, but they warn that access restrictions, attacks on facilities, shortages of treatment capacity and funding gaps risk making needs far worse for civilians.
