- On Monday James Spader confirmed that Ultron’s consciousness has been held “in a prison” inside Vision’s mind since Avengers: Age of Ultron.
- The revelation matches the VisionQuest trailer, which shows Ultron as one of several AI personas living inside Vision’s mental ‘Mind Space.’
- Spader said Ultron has had access to internet and television, studied history, taken up painting and periodically “made trouble” while confined.
- VisionQuest follows a rebuilt Vision consulting AIs such as EDITH, FRIDAY, JARVIS and Ultron and being forced on the run with a mysterious boy named Thomas Shepard.
- The series, led by showrunner Terry Matalas and due to debut on Disney+ on October 14, builds on WandaVision’s restoration of Vision and may change how future MCU stories treat his past and AI threats.
