The former All Black brings proven scrum expertise to strengthen Ulster's pack.

  • Ulster, which confirmed the move Wednesday, said Dermody will arrive this summer to lead the forwards and replace Jimmy Duffy.
  • Dermody joins from the Highlanders in New Zealand, where he served as head coach from 2022 to 2024 before moving into an assistant role.
  • He helped the Highlanders win the 2015 Super Rugby title as scrum coach and later co-coached Tasman Mako to NPC crowns in 2019 and 2020.
  • A former loosehead prop, he made over 100 appearances for London Irish and won three caps for the All Blacks before retiring in 2012 with injury.
