Overview
- Ukrop's Homestyle Foods issued a voluntary recall after a routine review and a consumer complaint found a metal sliver in a finished product, covering nearly 23,000 pounds of items produced July 1–30, 2026.
- The recall covers six SKUs — baked spaghetti, chicken cobbler and two bread-pudding formats in single-serve and bulk sizes — with listed UPCs and best-by dates from July 6 through Aug. 5, 2026.
- Retailers named in the notice include Food Lion, Kroger, Publix, Wegmans, Harris Teeter and Libbie Market, and affected items sold at those stores, Ukrop's Market Hall, 25th Street Market, military commissaries and online channels have been removed from shelves.
- Consumers are advised not to eat the recalled products and to return or discard them for a full refund and to contact Ukrop's at the company phone line for questions; no injuries have been reported.
- The finding points to baking equipment as the contamination source and follows other recent metal-related recalls, so regulators will be watching pan-lot traceability and supplier remediation to reduce the risk of repeat incidents.
