Ukraine’s Special Forces Destroy Four Radars in Crimea, Hit Russian Command Post in Donetsk

Kyiv casts the precision hits as an asymmetric push to degrade Russian air-defense networks.

Overview

  • Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces reported precision strikes that destroyed a 5N84A Oborona-14, a Nebo-U, and two radar stations inside a dome near Yevpatoria in occupied Crimea.
  • An element of a Russian marine brigade’s command post in occupied Zachatovka, Donetsk region, was also struck, according to the SOF statement.
  • The SOF said eliminating these radar sites weakens Russia’s ability to detect and engage aerial targets and signaled ongoing asymmetric actions to exhaust Russian capabilities.
  • Ukrainian OSINT group CyberBoroshno assessed that the Yevpatoria site included a modernized 5N84AE2/AM export-type radar developed for Middle Eastern customers, a claim not independently verified.
  • The latest actions follow March 8 strikes by Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces on occupied-territory targets, including warehouses, a Tor air-defense system, and an R-330Zh Zhitel electronic-warfare complex.
