Ukraine’s Hryvnia Firms Again as NBU Sets March 19 Rate at 43.89 per Dollar

The fresh fixing extends a mid-March strengthening trend versus Ukraine’s weaker 2026 budget assumption.

  • On Tuesday, March 17, the official rates stood at 44.08 UAH per USD and 50.57 UAH per EUR, making this the third straight daily gain against the dollar.
  • Retail quotes remained higher than the reference rate on March 18, with bank averages around 43.70–44.25 UAH per USD and cash exchange points near 44.15–44.30.
  • Government planning still anchors to a weaker annual average of 45.6 UAH per USD in the draft 2026 state budget.
