Ukraine Sets Priorities for Munich Security Conference as Foreign Minister Confirms Attendance

Zelensky’s trip remains contingent on the domestic security situation.

Overview

  • Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha will be in Munich on February 12–14 to take part in the 62nd Munich Security Conference as part of Ukraine’s delegation.
  • The delegation’s core message will call for a new European security architecture with Ukraine as an integral component and a source of EU strength and resilience.
  • Kyiv will press for additional air defenses, funding to scale drone production, and expanded joint manufacturing and exports to meet battlefield needs.
  • Sybiha’s program includes several dozen bilateral and multilateral meetings with counterparts from Asia, the Indo-Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America, as well as EU and UN officials, in formats such as the Nordic-Baltic Eight, G7+Ukraine, and the Odesa Triangle.
  • Zelensky said his attendance will depend on conditions in Ukraine and emphasized that personal, face-to-face diplomacy is needed to secure several support packages.
