Ukraine Replaces 14th Brigade and 10th Corps Chiefs After Frontline Supply Failures

Investigators are probing the chain of command following emergency resupply to positions cut off by strikes on Oskil crossings.

Overview

  • Ukraine’s General Staff on Friday dismissed the commanders of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade and the 10th Army Corps and named Colonel Taras Maksimov and Brigadier General Artem Bohomolov as their replacements.
  • The shake-up followed photos posted by relatives showing emaciated soldiers from the 14th Brigade who, families said, went 10–17 days between deliveries and survived by drinking rainwater or melted snow.
  • Military leaders said Russian air and missile strikes have targeted crossings over the Oskil River near Kupiansk, forcing risky resupply by boats and heavy drones instead of ground convoys.
  • New food shipments reached the affected positions, and commanders said evacuations will proceed when security and weather make movement safe.
  • Internal investigations by the Ground Forces and Joint Forces are examining failures across the 10th Corps chain, and on Saturday Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi ordered a front-line logistics review by May 20 with steps to add transport, evacuation vehicles, and ground robots.
