Overview
- The fifth Ukraine Recovery Conference, held June 25–26 in Gdańsk, drew roughly 9,000 participants and for the first time included a dedicated security and defence stream to link reconstruction with deterrence.
- The European Union released a confirmed €3.2 billion tranche from its broader €90 billion support package during the conference to provide immediate budget and recovery finance.
- Ukraine’s Ministry of Community and Territorial Development announced about €1.5 billion in agreed recovery funding for municipal infrastructure, housing, roads, energy efficiency, water systems and border projects.
- Organizers reported nearly 200 signed agreements, contracts, and memorandums at the conference and some media outlets cited more than €10 billion in deals as a reported estimate rather than uniformly confirmed transfers.
- Estonia formally took over hosting for URC 2027, showcased national firms and projects already working in Ukraine, and said it will marshal Nordic–Baltic partners to help coordinate investment, sector programs for science and media, and veterans’ digital services.
