Ukraine Hits Two Caspian Sea Oil Platforms in Long-Range Strike

The operation targets sites that Ukraine says feed Russia’s military fuel network.

Overview

  • Ukrainian forces, which struck overnight Thursday, hit two ice-resistant platforms in the northern Caspian Sea in a move announced by the General Staff.
  • The targets were LSP-2 at the Valery Grayfer field and LSP-1 at the Yuri Korchagin field, according to the General Staff’s statement on Facebook.
  • Special Operations Forces released video Friday and said their drones destroyed the Lukoil-owned structures about 1,000 kilometers from the front line.
  • In a separate strike reported by Ukrinform, the 9th “Kairos” Battalion hit the Marine Oil Terminal in occupied Feodosia, where three storage tanks have burned for three days.
  • Ukrainian outlets frame these attacks as part of a broader campaign against Russian fuel and export infrastructure, though independent damage assessments remain limited.
