Overview
- Ukraine reported intense frontline combat with roughly 276 separate engagements recorded on Friday, July 17, concentrated on the Pokrovsk, Hulyaypil and Sloviansk/Kostyantynivka axes.
- Ukrainian air-defense and Air Force units reported shooting down multiple guided missiles and more than 100 attack drones during the 16–17 July attacks and say they have continued to intercept drones over the following days.

- Kyiv has moved to preserve command continuity and boost drone production by naming Yevhen Khmara acting defence minister, announcing a special Stavka to coordinate drone and weapons output, and the SBU reported arrests of local informants who allegedly guided strikes.
