Ukraine Confirms New Tuapse Refinery Strike and Hits on Two Russian Landing Ships

Kyiv frames the operation as a push to choke Russia's fuel flow to its forces.

Overview

  • Ukraine's General Staff said drones hit Tuapse's oil refinery overnight April 19–20, igniting storage tanks at the site.
  • The military reported hits on a Project 1171 and a Project 775 landing ship in Sevastopol and said the damage is still being checked.
  • Officials also listed strikes on the Gvardeyskaya oil depot in Crimea, ammunition depots in Urzuf and Loknya, a drone store near Nova Karakuba, and a command post near Blahodatne.
  • Unmanned Systems commander Robert Brovdi released video of the Tuapse hit and credited Magyar's Birds, Special Operations Forces and military intelligence.
  • Port data cited by Novaya Gazeta Europe showed fewer ship calls at Tuapse after the strike, with some tankers routed to Novorossiysk.
