Ukraine Adds 38 Tonnes of Energy Equipment in a Week as Grid Repairs Intensify

The push concentrates on boosting temporary generation to speed repairs during winter outages.

Overview

  • Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said shipments over the past week totaled more than 38 tonnes from Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Austria, and Slovakia.
  • Generators, transformers, cogeneration units, and other equipment are now en route from Lithuania, Austria, Poland, Finland, France, Azerbaijan, and the Netherlands, plus support from the EU, UNDP, and UNICEF/WASH.
  • Nearly 342 tonnes of aid have been distributed from Energy Ministry hubs to distribution operators, heat and power producers, oil and gas companies, and local authorities.
  • In Kyiv, 63 crews are repairing power grids and more than 220 crews are restoring heat, with Ukrzaliznytsia teams and regional energy workers reinforcing the effort.
  • Naftogaz stands ready to send 40 more specialist teams to the capital, and new cogeneration units have been launched in the Kyiv Region with further deliveries agreed with partners.
