UK Supermarkets Slash Easter Vegetable Prices to Pennies

Loyalty rules and purchase caps decide who can grab the very lowest offers.

Overview

  • The short, dated Easter vegetable promotions, which went live Tuesday at most chains after Morrisons started Monday, drop prices to between 4p and 15p.
  • Morrisons cut carrots, parsnips and whole swede to 4p from March 30 to April 5, with a 2kg bag of white potatoes reduced to £1.
  • Aldi’s Super Six runs March 31 to April 5, with widely reported cuts to 8p on selected veg and some outlets listing certain items at 4p.
  • Lidl priced popular lines such as carrots, parsnips, swede and potatoes at 8p from March 31 to April 6 and set a maximum of three packs per item per customer.
  • Tesco and Sainsbury’s set selected vegetables at 15p through early April for Clubcard and Nectar members, framing the offers as budget help for the holiday shop.
