UK Prosecutors Authorize Two Additional Rape Charges Against Villarreal’s Thomas Partey

The new counts stem from a 2020 complaint by a different woman.

Overview

  • Partey has been ordered to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 13 March for the newly authorized charges.
  • The Metropolitan Police reopened the 2020 case in 2025 before referring it to the Crown Prosecution Service, which classified the allegations as non-recent offences.
  • He already faces five rape charges and one sexual assault charge over alleged incidents in 2021–22, with a trial scheduled for 2 November 2026 at Southwark Crown Court.
  • He pleaded not guilty to the earlier counts during a court hearing in September 2025.
  • He remains on bail and may continue playing for Villarreal under conditions that require 24 hours’ notice for international travel and prohibit contact with the complainants.
