UK Passport Fees Set To Top £100 From 8 April Pending Parliamentary Approval

The Home Office says the increase would move passports toward a self‑funding service that covers processing, consular support and border costs.

Overview

  • A standard adult online application is proposed to rise from £94.50 to £102, with children’s online fees increasing from £61.50 to £66.50.
  • Postal applications would go to £115.50 for adults and £80 for children, while the Premium one‑day service would increase from £222 to £239.50.
  • Overseas applications are set to rise to £116.50 online for adults (£75.50 for children) and to £130 by post for adults (£89 for children).
  • This would be the third straight year of sizable rises, following increases in 2023–2025 that have pushed up family renewal costs.
  • Officials report 99.7% of straightforward 2025 applications were processed within three weeks and urge people to renew before the new fees take effect, with a free 32‑page passport still available to those born on or before 2 September 1929.
