UK Orders Class 2 Recall of Ramipril 10mg Batch Over Mispacked 5mg Strips

Regulators say a short spell on the lower dose poses very low risk.

Overview

  • The MHRA's Class 2 recall, announced Monday, covers Ramipril 10mg Batch GR174091 after a mix-up placed 5mg blister strips in some 10mg cartons.
  • Pharmacies and wholesalers have been told to stop supplying the batch, quarantine any stock, and return all packs to suppliers.
  • Dispensers have been asked to trace patients given this batch since 13 May 2025 and to recover any remaining packs where possible.
  • Patients who take Ramipril 10mg should check the outer carton for GR174091 and contact their pharmacy if 5mg strips are inside, with any side effects reported via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
  • The issue followed a patient complaint and likely arose during secondary packaging at the site that made both strengths, with short-term underdosing assessed as very low risk.
