Overview
- Most UK airports still enforce the 100ml container limit for liquids in cabin bags.
- The Mirror reports Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol, Belfast International, Belfast City and Bournemouth now allow liquid containers up to two litres, so travellers should check their departure airport’s policy.
- Food and powders in hand luggage can obscure x-ray images and may be manually inspected, with advice to place them in checked bags to avoid delays.
- Passengers may carry only one lighter kept on their person inside a resealable plastic bag, and it cannot go in checked baggage or back into hand luggage after screening.
- Small scissors with blades under 6cm are allowed, but larger blades and most frozen items are restricted, with exceptions for medicines, medical needs, baby food and baby milk.
