- DVSA, which brings new booking rules into force on Tuesday, will require learners to book practical car tests themselves on GOV.UK.
- From May 12 it becomes illegal for anyone else to book, change, cancel or swap a learner’s car test, so instructors cannot do this for students.
- Booking from that date will also require the learner to confirm their identity and accept new terms and conditions on GOV.UK.
- DVSA warns against using unofficial cancellation-finder apps because users may miss test-change emails and risk sharing personal data with services that lack compliant privacy notices.
- Rescheduling has been tightened, with amendments capped at two since March 31 and centre moves for new bookings limited to the three nearest from June 9.
