UFORCE and RECONCRAFT Sign MoU to Produce Ukraine’s MAGURA Sea Drones in U.S.

Company leaders say the move is meant to speed U.S. access to attritable, combat-tested unmanned surface vessels through U.S. production.

Overview

  • UFORCE USA and RECONCRAFT signed a memorandum of understanding on July 21 to pursue U.S. manufacture of the MAGURA family of unmanned surface vessels in American shipyards.
  • UFORCE said it has entered the Pentagon’s Drone Dominance competition to seek formal U.S. procurement pathways for its MAGURA systems.
  • UFORCE and some analysts credit MAGURA boats with damaging or sinking more than a dozen Russian vessels in the Black Sea and highlight V5 and V7 variants with heavy payload and high-speed claims, but those performance and combat claims are reported by the companies and analysts and lack independent public verification.
  • RECONCRAFT brings existing U.S. shipbuilding capacity and procurement credibility, including an Other Transaction Authority award from U.S. Special Operations Command, which the companies say will shorten development and production time compared with a from-scratch program.
  • The companies have not disclosed contract values, unit counts, delivery schedules, or any U.S. service commitments, leaving procurement, timelines, and operational use uncertain even as the partnership could hasten U.S. fielding of expendable maritime drone capabilities if competitions or contracts follow.
