- The teams will play Nov. 14, 2027, in Storrs and Nov. 19, 2028, at Vanderbilt’s Memorial Gymnasium.
- At the time of the announcement, UConn and Vanderbilt were the nation’s only unbeaten Division I women’s teams at 19-0, with the Huskies ranked No. 1 and the Commodores No. 5 in the AP poll.
- Shea Ralph starred at UConn from 1996–2001 and later served as a Huskies assistant from 2008–2021 before taking over at Vanderbilt.
- Geno Auriemma publicly praised Ralph’s rapid progress at Vanderbilt, saying he enjoys watching the Commodores and joking she’s “not quite Curt Cignetti yet.”
- UConn leads the all-time series 6-2, the last meeting was a 64-51 Huskies win in 2019, and Auriemma and Ralph have yet to coach against each other as head coaches.
